SIAMESE FIGHTER FISH
CARE & INFORMATION
DIET
Siamese Fighter Fish are carnivores and need food high in protein. These fish cannot survive off of just vegetables or plant roots. There are many foods available for a Siamese Fighter Fish that can be bought at your local fish store or cultivated at home.
HOUSING Siamese Fighter Fish are typically sold in cups in pet stores which is fine for a short period of time, however they do require adequate space to swim. While they would love a huge aquarium, sometimes space is limited so a smaller tank is perfectly fine. Like all fish though the bigger the better (especially if you plan to have multiple fish). They like to exercise and larger tanks allows them to do so. It’s not only better for their health to get activity, but a larger fish tank means a better quality of water too as smaller fish tanks can quickly become soiled and filled with other contaminants. TANK MATES In the wild, Siamese Fighter Fish live alongside other splendens, loaches, rasboras, gouramis, and other fish. They are indeed a territorial fish, wild Siamese Fighter Fish will drive other fish out of their territory during the breeding season. But they seldom do any damage or kill anything. Damage is minimal, if there is any at all. Here are some fish species that Siamese Fighter Fish can share a reasonable sized tank with.
